Biography
Homayoun Ershadi, born on March 22, 1947, in Tehran, Iran, is a renowned Iranian actor who gained international fame through his roles in acclaimed Iranian films. His performance as the lead in Abbas Kiarostami's 'Taste of Cherry' (1997), which won the Palme d'Or at Cannes, brought him worldwide recognition. Ershadi's natural acting style and ability to convey deep emotion with minimal expression made him a favorite of Iranian art cinema directors. He appeared in several other notable films including 'The Wind Will Carry Us' (1999) by Kiarostami and various works by other prominent Iranian filmmakers.
