Edward Jayakody

Edward Jayakody, born on August 15, 1958, in Galle, Sri Lanka, is one of the most celebrated playback singers in Sinhala cinema. He has sung over 1,000 songs for Sri Lankan films and is known for his melodious voice and emotional depth. Jayakody has won multiple Presidential Awards for Best Male Playback Singer and is considered one of the finest voices in Sri Lankan music history. His songs like 'Sanda Wane' and 'Mal Matha' remain evergreen classics. He has performed at numerous concerts and cultural events across Sri Lanka and internationally. Jayakody's contribution to Sri Lankan music spans over four decades and he is regarded as a living legend of the country's musical heritage.
