Biography
Ahmed Urabi (1841-1911) was an Egyptian military officer and revolutionary who led the Urabi Revolt against the Khedive and British influence in 1879-1882. Born in Charqiya, he sought to establish a constitutional government and Egyptian self-rule. The revolt was suppressed by the British, but Urabi became a symbol of Egyptian nationalism and anti-colonial resistance.
